Subscriptions and auto-renew

Recurring services you've purchased — most commonly a dedicated phone number for your campaign's phone line — appear on your Billing page in a Subscriptions card. This article explains what you'll see there and how to control renewal.

What the Subscriptions card shows

Each subscription is listed with:

  • The plan — what the service is (for a phone subscription, the number itself is shown).
  • The campaign it belongs to.
  • The monthly price.
  • The renewal state — either Renews on \<date\> (auto-renew is on) or Expires \<date\> (auto-renew is off and the service ends at the close of the current period).

Past-due or cancelled subscriptions appear with their status so the card is always the full picture of what you're paying for.

The auto-renew toggle

Each dedicated-number subscription carries its own Auto-renew switch:

  • On — the service continues month to month; your card on file is billed each period and the number stays active.
  • Off — nothing further is billed. The service runs until the end of the period you've already paid for, then ends. For a phone number, that means the number is released — donors calling it will no longer reach your campaign.

Because turning auto-renew off has real consequences, the dashboard asks you to confirm before switching it off, showing the exact date the service will end. Turning it back on is one click, with no confirmation needed.

Auto-renew is self-serve for dedicated phone numbers. Other subscription types on your account are managed by the Pledgix team — contact us if you need one changed.

The expiring-number warning

If a dedicated number is heading toward expiry — auto-renew off and the period end approaching — your Billing page shows a prominent amber banner: which number, which campaign, and how many days remain (or that it has already ended). The banner includes a one-click Keep this number button that simply switches auto-renew back on.

Take that banner seriously: once a released number is gone, it may not be recoverable, and any printed materials, saved contacts, or past text messages pointing at it go dark.

Billing details

Subscription charges are billed to the card (or bank method) on file for your account and appear on your invoices like any other charge. If a renewal charge fails, the subscription shows as past due — update your payment method and see Failed payments and good standing for how recovery works.

Tip: Wrapping up a campaign but planning another next year? Consider the cost of keeping the number active versus reprinting every flyer and re-teaching donors a new number. Many organizations keep one number running year-round for exactly this reason.
