How to pay a Pledgix invoice

Two ways invoices get paid

Pledgix invoices are collected in one of two ways, and the invoice itself determines which applies:

  • Automatic collection — the invoice is charged to the card or bank account saved on your billing account. Most subscription and usage charges work this way.
  • Pay by link — the invoice is sent to you with a secure payment page, and you pay it yourself online. Your saved payment method is never charged automatically for these invoices.

Both kinds appear together in your Invoice history on the Billing tab.

Paying an open invoice

  1. Open the Billing tab in your client portal.
  2. Click Pay next to the open invoice.
  3. A payment dialog opens right in the page, showing the amount due. Enter your card details and submit. Your card number goes directly to our payment gateway — Pledgix never sees or stores the full number.

Once the payment succeeds, the invoice flips to paid immediately.

Prefer the full invoice page? Every invoice also has a View link (and a button in the invoice email) that opens it on its own secure page with all line items and the total — you can pay there too, and after payment the page becomes a receipt you can revisit any time.

Retrying an automatic charge

If an automatic charge didn't go through (an expired card, a temporary decline), you don't have to wait:

  1. Go to the Billing tab.
  2. Find the open invoice and click Retry.
  3. The charge runs again immediately against your saved payment method, and you'll see the result right away — "Payment went through — thank you!" on success.

If the charge is declined again, update your payment method first (see below) and then retry.

Tip: Saving a new working card does the retrying for you — the moment a card is saved, Pledgix automatically retries every open invoice that's billed to your saved payment method. (Pay-by-link invoices are never charged to your card — pay those with the Pay button or from their invoice page.) You'll see a confirmation like "Card saved — retrying 2 open invoices now."

Accepting and paying a quote

Sometimes our team sends a quote — a proposal for services — before any invoice exists. Quotes look just like invoices, with one difference: paying a quote first converts it into a real invoice, then processes your payment. You'll find quotes in the same Invoice history list with a quote status pill, and the email button reads View & accept quote.

What happens after a failed payment

You'll receive an email letting you know a payment didn't go through, and a red banner appears at the top of your Billing page: "A payment didn't go through." Pledgix retries the charge automatically over the following days, and your services continue uninterrupted for the next 72 hours — plenty of time to fix a card issue. See Failed payments and keeping your account in good standing for the full picture.

Tip: The fastest recovery is always the Fix payment method button in the banner — save a working card and everything open is retried on the spot.
