Payment methods you can accept

Pledgix supports several ways for supporters to give. Which online methods appear at checkout depends on the payment provider connected to your campaign; offline methods are always available for gifts you record yourself.

Online card payments

Every campaign with an active payment connection accepts credit and debit cards directly in the donation checkout. Depending on your campaign's payment provider, donors may also see:

  • Apple Pay and Google Pay — one-tap wallet payments on supported devices, available on both Stripe-connected campaigns and the standard Pledgix rail when enabled (on the standard rail, for one-time USD gifts).
  • Additional redirect-based methods — some payment options briefly send the donor to approve the payment and then return them to your campaign page. These can take a little longer to confirm and may show as Pending until they clear.

Online card donations — including wallet payments — appear in your Donations dashboard with the payment method Credit Card and the provider that processed them. (The Apple Pay / Google Pay labels appear on manual and imported gifts you record with those methods.)

Note: If no payment account is assigned to your campaign yet, donors see a message that card payment isn't available. Contact your Pledgix administrator to connect one before you launch.

On free Pledgix Go campaigns, checkout also invites the donor to add an optional tip to Pledgix on top of their gift — the tip is charged with the payment but never counts toward your campaign total or payout.

Charity cards and donor-advised funds (DAF)

Donors who give through a Jewish charity fund can pay with their charity card directly at checkout. Pledgix supports OJC, The Donors' Fund, Pledger, and Matbia cards, plus a direct iMaaser account integration. These gifts appear in your dashboard with the method Charity Card and the fund that issued the grant.

Charity-card giving is available on every campaign model except Political campaigns and campaigns marked not tax-deductible — a DAF grant must go to a verified charitable recipient.

Recurring donations

Campaigns with recurring giving enabled can accept Monthly gifts and fixed Installments plans by card. The donor's card is charged automatically on schedule. Recurring giving is available on Pledgix One and above — free Go campaigns don't offer it at checkout (the Pledgix team can adjust feature access for a specific campaign on request). See Recurring donations for the full picture.

Donations by phone

If your campaign's phone line is enabled, donors can call in, hear your campaign's progress, and donate by entering an amount and their card details on their phone keypad. Phone gifts appear in your dashboard with the method Card (Phone/IVR). See Donations by phone for details.

In-person and connected sources

  • Tap to Pay — in-person card taps collected through the Add Donation flow, where enabled for your account. These rows carry the method Tap to Pay.
  • Donary — campaigns connected to Donary receive those donations into the dashboard automatically, labeled Donary. Donary rows can arrive as pending verification until confirmed.

Offline methods you record yourself

Money you collect outside the website — at events, by mail, in person — can be recorded manually so your campaign total stays accurate. When you add a manual donation you can choose:

  • Cash
  • Check
  • Wire Transfer (bank transfer)
  • Credit Card (Offline) — a card payment you processed outside Pledgix
  • Bit
  • Other

Manual entries count toward your campaign total the moment you save them with the Approved status. See Recording offline and manual donations.

Spreadsheet imports

Historical or bulk donations can be imported from an Excel or CSV file, including the payment method for each row. See Importing donations from a spreadsheet.

How methods appear in filters and exports

Your Donations dashboard lets you filter by payment method — Credit Card, Charity Card, Card (Phone/IVR), Tap to Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Bank Transfer, Cash, Check, Bit, Donary, or Other — and every export includes a Payment Method and Payment Provider column so your bookkeeping can distinguish online gifts from offline ones.

Tip: Filter by method before exporting to produce, for example, a clean list of all check donations for your deposit records.
