How do I move a donation to a different team?

To re-credit a donation to a different team, edit the donation and change its Team Assignment field. This works for every kind of donation — including online card payments, where the amount is locked but the team credit is still editable.

Steps

1. Open your campaign and go to Donations.
2. Find the donation and open it for editing (via the row's ⋮ menu → Edit).
3. In the Additional Information section, open Team Assignment ("Reassign to another team, or split the gift evenly between several"), search for the team, and select it. Choose No team to remove the credit entirely — or switch to a multi-team split to divide the gift across several teams instead of crediting just one.
4. Save. Every affected team's totals and public pages update automatically.

Why donations end up on the wrong team

Team credit is set by the link the donor used — giving through a team page (pledgix.com/your-slug/t/team-slug) credits that team, while giving on the main campaign page credits no one. Donors who arrive through a shared or forwarded link often land on the wrong team page, so a quick reassignment afterward is completely normal.

Tip: Filter the Donations table by Team after a big push and skim for names that obviously belong elsewhere — captains will usually tell you about missing gifts, but rarely about ones they received by mistake. For everything else you can change on a gift, see Editing or correcting a donation.
