How do I hide a donation from the public feed?

The honest answer: Pledgix hides donor names, not donations. An anonymous donation still appears in the public feed with its amount — the name simply shows as "Anonymous". Donors choose anonymity when they give, and you can also flip it on an existing donation by editing it.

How to make a gift anonymous at creation

  1. Online donors check "Make this donation anonymous" ("Hide my name from the public feed") on the donation form.
  2. Manual entries: check Record as Anonymous Donation in the Add Donation dialog.
  3. Spreadsheet imports: set the Anonymous column to Yes for that row.

The donation already exists — now what?

  1. Open your campaign's Donations tab and find the gift.
  2. Open the row's actions menu, choose Edit, and check Record as Anonymous Donation (uncheck it to show the name again).
  3. Save — the amount stays in the feed and your totals, but the name is replaced with "Anonymous", and any dedication message is hidden from the feed too (a dedication usually reveals who gave).

This works on online donations too: anonymity isn't one of the locked payment fields. It's purely a display mask — the donor's real name stays on the record, so your private dashboard, exports, and their receipt are unaffected.

Note: political campaigns can't accept anonymous donations at all, and their feed shows names without amounts.

Tip: If a donor asks you before they give, send them your link and point out the anonymous checkbox — it's the cleanest path. For how the feed treats privacy overall, see Anonymous donations and the public donations feed.
