Why is my payout smaller than what I raised?

A payout's net amount is what actually lands in your account, and it's calculated transparently:

Net amount = gross donations − processing fees − platform fee − reserve held

The three deductions

  1. Processing fees — the fees the card processor charges on each donation. These apply on every model.
  2. Platform fee — Pledgix's fee, deducted on each donation as it's processed. On Pledgix Go it's 0% (donors are instead invited to add an optional tip, which never touches your totals or payouts). On Pledgix One, the current Pledgix One rate — shown in your dashboard and on the pricing page — applies per donation. See Platform fees explained for how your rate works.
  3. Reserve held — a percentage of your net proceeds kept back temporarily (commonly 10%). This is not a fee — reserved money remains yours and is disbursed when the team releases it under your reserve terms. It exists because donations can be refunded or disputed for a while after they're made.

Two more things to check:

  • Payouts cover donations processed online through the payment gateway. Manual or offline donations you logged yourself count toward your campaign total, but not toward payouts.
  • Donor-advised fund (DAF) grants count as payable only once the grant money actually arrives in the bank. A grant that's still in transit shows on your balance dashboard as DAF in transit, but it isn't part of your payable balance yet.

How to see the math for your campaign

  1. Open your campaign and go to the Payouts & Transactions tab.
  2. The balance dashboard leads with Available to pay out, backed by a money-flow bar (Fees, Reserve, Paid out, Available, and DAF buckets when they apply) and tiles for Net raised, Reserve held, and Still to pay out. The Statement (PDF) button downloads the whole picture.
  3. Every payout in Payout History is individually numbered, so each disbursement can be traced and reconciled — the payout record carries the full breakdown.

If the numbers still don't add up

Message the compliance team through the campaign chat (the chat icon in your campaign header), quoting the payout number (like PO-0003). Every dollar is tracked, and we can walk you through the exact calculation.

Tip: Remember to count the reserve as delayed, not deducted — it comes back to you. See Why some of your funds may be held.
