How you receive the money you raise

It depends on your campaign model
When you created your campaign, you chose one of Pledgix's campaign models — and that choice determines how your raised funds reach you.
Pledgix Go and Pledgix One — Pledgix collects, then pays you out
Pledgix Go and Pledgix One campaigns launch in seconds with built-in payment processing — no gateway setup and no approval needed to start fundraising. Donations are processed on Pledgix's payment infrastructure, and Pledgix then disburses the money to you. The payout and verification tools work the same way on both models.
Here's the journey of your funds:
- Donations come in and are processed automatically — your campaign totals update in real time.
- You verify your identity by uploading compliance documents. Uploading documents is optional when you create the campaign, but it's required before you can withdraw funds to your bank. See Compliance documents: what to upload and why.
- You add a payout method — bank transfer, check, or eCheck. See Setting up your payout method.
- Your payout hold period elapses. After your compliance is approved, a hold period applies before disbursements begin, and a portion of funds may be held in reserve. See Why some of your funds may be held.
- Pledgix issues payouts to your active payout method. Each payout appears in your campaign's Payouts & Transactions tab with a payout number and live status, and you're notified by email at every step. Payout checks are delivered by email as password-protected PDFs — you retrieve the password separately in your portal. And once your check method is admin-verified, you can also issue a payout check yourself, confirmed with a one-time email code and subject to per-check and daily limits.
Pledgix Pro and Political — funds go directly to you
Pledgix Pro and Pledgix Political campaigns use a custom payment gateway that belongs to your organization. If your organization is connected through Stripe, donations settle directly into your Stripe account — Pledgix never holds your money. Your payout timing is then governed by Stripe's own payout schedule to your bank.
Pledgix's platform fee is collected automatically on each donation as an application fee, so there's nothing to settle up separately.
Pro and Political campaigns are reviewed by our team before setup — when you request one in the campaign wizard, we'll review it and get back to you promptly.
What gets deducted before you're paid
Whichever model you're on, what reaches you is your net proceeds. On every donation:
- Payment processing fees — the exact fee the payment processor charges on each transaction — are deducted on every model.
- The Pledgix platform fee is applied per donation. On Pledgix Go it's 0% — instead, donors are invited to add an optional tip to Pledgix on top of their gift, which never touches your campaign totals or payouts. On Pledgix One, the current Pledgix One rate (shown in your dashboard and on the pricing page) applies to each donation. On Pro and Political, your agreed rate is collected as each donation is processed.
- What's left — the donation minus the platform fee and the processing fee — is your net for that donation, and your payable balance is the sum of those nets. Any reserve amount temporarily held is calculated on that payable net and itemized on each payout record, so the math is always visible.
Tip: Your donors always pay exactly the amount they chose — fees come out of campaign proceeds, never added on top of the donation.
Where to see everything
Open your campaign in the client portal and go to the Payouts & Transactions tab. That's home base for compliance documents, payout methods, and your payout history. Messages with the Pledgix compliance team live in the campaign chat — open it with the chat icon in your campaign header.
If anything about your funds is ever unclear, open the account menu and choose Help & Support — we're happy to walk through your numbers with you.
