Issuing your own payout check

You don't have to wait for the Pledgix team to send your money. Campaigns that have completed compliance can generate their own payout check right from the dashboard — a real, deposit-ready check against your available balance, issued in about a minute.

What you need first

Self-serve checks unlock once all of these are true:

  • You hold an owner-level role on the campaign (campaign super admin or manager).
  • Your compliance review is approved, and any post-approval hold period has passed.
  • Your active payout method is a check method that the Pledgix team has verified — meaning an administrator confirmed the exact payee name and mailing address that will print on the check. If you edit the payee or address later, the method needs re-verification before the next self-serve check.
  • Your balance is in USD — self-serve checks are paper checks in US dollars only. Bank (ACH) payouts are handled by the Pledgix team.

If any prerequisite is missing, the check card in your payouts view tells you exactly which one.

How to issue a check

  1. Open your campaign's payouts area and find the check issuance card.
  2. Enter the amount (up to your available balance) and an optional memo, then confirm by retyping the amount — a deliberate speed bump before money moves.
  3. Verify with a one-time code. Pledgix emails a 6-digit code to your login address. It expires after 10 minutes and allows a few attempts, so enter it promptly.
  4. Save the check password. The moment the check is issued you're shown its one-time PDF password and a download button for the password-protected check PDF. The password is displayed exactly once on this screen — copy it before closing. (You can retrieve it again later from the check's entry in your Disbursements list.)

The check is also emailed to you as a locked PDF — see How check payouts are delivered for printing and depositing.

Limits

To keep self-serve issuance safe, standard velocity caps apply:

  • $10,000 maximum per check
  • $25,000 maximum in any rolling 24 hours
  • 2 checks in any rolling 24 hours (a voided check still counts as one of the two)

Need more than the caps allow? Contact the Pledgix team — larger payouts are handled through the standard payout flow.

Everything is on the record

Each self-issued check lands in your campaign's disbursement register and compliance timeline, and the Pledgix team is automatically notified of every issuance. There's no approval wait — you're not asking permission — but the audit trail is complete on both sides.

Tip: The amount can't exceed your available balance — money in reserve, unreceived DAF grants, and manual/offline donations don't count. If the number looks lower than expected, see Your payout account statement for the exact balance walk.
