Notifications on Pledgix: what the bell does (and doesn't) cover

New to Pledgix, you'll spot a bell icon in the top navigation bar and reasonably assume it's a catch-all inbox. It isn't — and knowing exactly what it covers will save you from watching the wrong corner of the screen. This article gives you the honest map.
What the bell actually is
The bell opens the Messages from Pledgix panel — chat messages from the Pledgix team across all your campaigns. Payout updates, compliance requests, fee or reserve changes, terms updates, and other campaign notices from the team all arrive in each campaign's chat, and the bell totals what you haven't read yet.
- A red badge shows your unread count, capped at 9+.
- Click the bell and each campaign with unread messages appears as its own row — "3 new messages from Pledgix," for example.
- Selecting a row opens that campaign's chat drawer on its Overview page, where reading the conversation clears those messages from your count. There's no separate "mark all as read" button — opening the chat is what marks it read.
- When nothing is waiting, the panel says "You're all caught up!"
The bell quietly re-checks for new messages about once a minute while your dashboard is open, so a fresh message appears without you refreshing the page. It's an owner-level tool: captains and team members don't see these conversations.
Tip: Some of these messages can hold up your money. When the badge lights up, deal with it the same day — a fast reply keeps payouts on schedule.
What the bell does NOT cover
Here's where everything else lives:
- New donations — these never ring the bell. Watch the Recent Donations feed on your Home screen, or open a campaign's donations list. Totals update on their own.
- Product news — new features and fixes appear under the megaphone icon next to the bell, marked with a blue dot when there's something you haven't seen. See What's New: following Pledgix product updates.
- Support ticket replies — conversations with the support team live in the Help Center, reachable from your account menu. You also get an email when support replies, and an open ticket conversation refreshes live while you're viewing it.
- Team invitations and account emails — invitations, verification links, and receipts arrive by email, not in the bell. Keep an eye on your inbox, especially during your first week.
Are there notification settings?
No — and it's worth saying plainly: Pledgix currently has no notification preferences page in your portal. You can't mute the bell, redirect compliance messages, or subscribe to extra alerts. The upside is there's nothing to configure or misconfigure: messages from the Pledgix team always reach the bell, and everything else always lives in the places listed above.
If more notification options would help you, the Feedback & Roadmap board (in your account menu) is the right place to say so — see Suggesting features and voting on the roadmap.
A simple daily habit
For most campaign runners, staying informed takes ten seconds:
- Glance at the bell — red badge? Open it and respond.
- Glance at the megaphone — blue dot? Skim what shipped.
- Scan Recent Donations on Home to feel the pulse of your campaign.
That's the whole system. No inbox to zero out, no settings to tune.
Tip: If you were expecting a notification that never came, check whether it's really a message from the Pledgix team. Nine times out of ten, "missing" notifications are donation or invitation events — which arrive in the feed and your email, respectively, by design.
