Using your own domain for your campaign

Your campaign on your domain

By default your campaign lives at pledgix.com/your-campaign. You can also serve it from a domain you own — yourcampaign.org, or a subdomain like donate.yourorg.org. Once connected:

  • Your page loads at your domain, with a secure HTTPS certificate provisioned automatically — nothing to buy or install.
  • Share links and QR codes switch to your domain automatically.
  • Your domain becomes the page's canonical address for search engines.

How to get connected

Custom domains are set up together with the Pledgix team:

  1. Contact us with the domain or subdomain you want to use (via Help & Support in your account menu, or your Pledgix contact). We'll attach it to your campaign — each domain can serve exactly one campaign.
  2. Add the DNS records below at your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.). We can also email the DNS instructions directly to your IT person — just tell us who to send them to.
  3. We verify the connection. Once your DNS records are live, verification completes and your certificate is issued automatically.

The DNS records

Which record you need depends on whether you're connecting a bare (apex) domain or a subdomain:

Bare domain (e.g. yourcampaign.org)

| Type | Name | Value | |---|---|---| | A | @ | 76.76.21.21 |

Subdomain (e.g. donate.yourorg.org)

| Type | Name | Value | |---|---|---| | CNAME | donate | cname.vercel-dns.com |

In rare cases (usually when the domain was previously used with another hosting service), an additional TXT verification record is required — if so, we'll give you the exact value to add.

Tip: DNS changes usually take effect within minutes, but can take up to a few hours to propagate worldwide. If verification doesn't complete right away, give it a little time before troubleshooting.

www and the bare domain both work

When you connect a bare domain or a www address, both variants are connected automatically — the other one redirects to your primary. So visitors typing www.yourcampaign.org or yourcampaign.org all land on your page. (This pairing applies to www only; a deeper subdomain like donate.yourorg.org stands alone.)

Good to know

  • One campaign per domain. A domain already serving another campaign can't be attached twice.
  • Your pledgix.com address keeps working. Connecting a domain doesn't break existing links — search engines are simply told your domain is now the primary address.
  • White-label experience. On your own domain, the page presents your organization front and center.
  • Changing or removing the domain is handled the same way it was added — reach out and we'll detach or repoint it safely.
Tip: A short, memorable subdomain like donate.yourorg.org is often the sweet spot — it inherits trust from your main website while keeping your existing site untouched.
