The Donate by Phone panel

What visitors see

When your campaign's telephone system is enabled, the trust band near the footer of your public page gains a Donate by Phone tile: a bold, tappable phone number with a Call now button and the line "Call our campaign line to make a donation or hear live campaign updates." On phones, the number is a one-tap tel: link — donors go straight from your page to a live call. On mobile screens the hotline tile stacks above the verification tiles so it's the first thing in the band.

If your telephone system is off, the panel simply doesn't render — no empty space, no placeholder.

Shared line vs. dedicated number

What the panel shows depends on how your line is set up in the Telephone System tab of your campaign dashboard:

  • Shared line with a campaign code — your campaign rides the Pledgix shared number. The panel shows the number plus a Campaign code: a short PIN displayed in easy-to-read groups of digits, with a one-tap Copy code button. Callers dial the shared number and enter the code when prompted to reach your campaign.
  • Dedicated number — your campaign has its own phone number. The panel shows just that number and the Call now button; there's no code to enter, because the number itself identifies your campaign.

If you've chosen a dedicated number but it hasn't finished provisioning yet, the page temporarily falls back to showing the shared line and code, so donors always have a working way to call.

What happens on the call

The phone line is a real donation channel, not just a display. Callers reach a menu where they can:

  1. Hear live campaign updates — current totals, read out over the phone.
  2. Donate over the phone — enter an amount, optionally credit a team with a team code, and pay by card, all in the call.
  3. Reach your office — if you've configured a forwarding number, the line can transfer callers to you.

Phone donations land in your dashboard and donations feed like any other gift.

Plan notes

  • Pledgix Go campaigns can use the phone system, but only with a purchased dedicated number — the free shared line and campaign code are not offered on Go, and the page will never display them for a Go campaign.
  • Pledgix One and above can use either the free shared line (with a campaign code) or a dedicated number.
  • Pledgix Political campaigns don't include the telephone system.

Your donors' privacy is protected either way: the public page exposes only the hotline number and code — none of your internal telephony configuration is visible.

Tip: The hotline shines in print and offline settings. Put the number (and campaign code, if you use the shared line) on flyers, mailers, and event signage — it gives donors without a smartphone or an internet connection a way to give the moment they decide to.
