The Caller role for Call Center volunteers
Last updated 2 min read
The Caller role exists for one job: letting a volunteer make calls for your campaign without handing them the campaign. It is the most restricted role on Pledgix — by design.
What a Caller sees
A volunteer signed in as a Caller lands directly in the Call Center dialer and sees:
- Only the call lists assigned to them. Lists owned by other callers, and the campaign-wide list views, simply don't exist for them.
- The donor context they need for each call — name, notes, the script — with donor phone numbers masked. The dialer connects the call; the volunteer never reads the full number.
What a Caller never sees
Everything else. Callers have no access to:
- Campaign totals, donations, or the Donations CRM
- Analytics, reports, or exports
- Donor profiles (the People wing of Donor Relations is hidden for them)
- Creating, uploading, or deleting call lists, smart lists, follow-up queues, or calling analytics — those are manager surfaces
- Any campaign settings
This isn't a display trick — the restrictions are enforced by the server on every request. A caller-only account that tries a manager link gets turned away.
Inviting callers
Callers are invited from inside the Call Center, not from the general team settings:
- Open Donor Relations → Call Center in your campaign.
- Go to the Lists & Callers area.
- Enter the volunteer's email address to send an invite. They accept the emailed link, create (or sign in to) their Pledgix account, and appear on your caller roster.
- Assign call lists to them — the roster shows how many lists each caller currently holds.
Campaign owners and managers can invite and remove callers. Removing a caller revokes their access immediately; the call history they produced stays with the campaign.
Callers vs. team members
A team member raises money — they have a team page, share links, and see their team's progress. A Caller works the phones — no team, no totals, just their queue. The same person can hold both roles in a campaign; they'll then see the union of the two (the wider access wins wherever the roles overlap).
Tip: If a volunteer reports "I can't see the campaign" after accepting their invite — that's correct. Point them to the Call Center; their assigned lists are waiting there.
