Syncing your campaign to Google Calendar

Your campaign plan shouldn't live in a tab you have to remember to open. With Google Calendar sync, every event you schedule in Pledgix appears automatically in a Google Calendar of your choice — on your phone, in Gmail, everywhere your calendar goes.

Connecting your Google account

  1. Open your campaign's calendar.
  2. In the sidebar, find the Google Calendar card. It explains: "Connect this campaign's own Google account to mirror its events into a Google Calendar you choose."
  3. Click Connect Google Calendar.
  4. You'll be taken to Google's sign-in and consent screen. Choose the account you want and approve access.
  5. You're returned to your campaign with a "Google Calendar connected!" confirmation.

The card now shows your Google account's email with a Connected label, so you always know which account is linked.

Note: Complete the Google sign-in promptly after clicking connect — the secure link expires after 15 minutes. If it lapses, just click Connect Google Calendar again.

Choosing where events go

After connecting, use the Sync events to dropdown on the card to pick the destination. You can choose:

  • Your account's main calendar (marked primary) — the default
  • Any other calendar your Google account can edit — including shared team calendars

Choosing a shared calendar is a great way to give your whole committee visibility: connect once, point the sync at a calendar everyone follows, and the entire team sees the campaign schedule.

If you switch to a different calendar later, you'll see "Calendar updated — new events will sync there." Events synced previously stay where they are; new events go to the newly selected calendar.

How syncing works

Sync is fully automatic — there's nothing to click after setup:

  • Add an event in Pledgix, and it appears in Google Calendar moments later, with its title, description, location, and times. All-day events sync as all-day.
  • Delete an event in Pledgix, and its copy is removed from Google Calendar too.
  • Synced events show a green Synced badge in Pledgix, with an Open in Google Calendar link for jumping straight to the Google copy.

Sync flows one way: from Pledgix to Google. Pledgix is the source of truth — changes you make directly in Google Calendar aren't imported back, so always manage the schedule itself in your campaign. Only dated events sync; an event needs a start date to be mirrored.

Each campaign has its own connection

Connections are per campaign, not per account. Running three campaigns? Each one connects separately, and each can point to a different Google account or calendar. Connecting one campaign never affects another.

Disconnecting

Click Disconnect on the card to unlink the Google account. Pledgix revokes its access and removes the stored connection — your Google credentials are stored encrypted while connected, and deleted when you disconnect.

Events that were already synced stay in your Google Calendar; they simply stop receiving updates. Future Pledgix events won't sync until you connect again. Reconnecting (even with a different Google account) starts fresh — your existing events sync cleanly into the newly connected calendar as you work.

Tip: Point the sync at a dedicated "Campaign" calendar in Google rather than your personal primary calendar. You can toggle its visibility on and off in Google Calendar, share it with exactly the right people, and archive it cleanly when the campaign ends.

Who can manage the connection

Connecting, disconnecting, and choosing the target calendar requires campaign editing rights — campaign Managers and Campaign Admins. Captains and team members don't see the Google Calendar card.

The Google Calendar integration is its own feature on Pledgix Pro and Political plans, on top of the Planning section itself. If your calendar works but the Google Calendar card is missing, the integration isn't enabled for your campaign — the Pledgix team can adjust access per campaign.
