Sponsorship item campaigns

Sponsorship mode turns your donation tiers into a catalog of claimable items — Main Hall Plumbing, a Classroom Table, a page of the new sefer — each with a price and a quantity. Donors claim items instead of (or alongside) typing an amount, and sold items lock on the public page.
The two sponsorship modes
Your campaign's donation mode lives in Campaign Settings → Fundraising, in the Donation mode card:
- Sponsorship — items + custom amounts: the page leads with your item catalog, but donors can still give a custom amount if nothing in the catalog fits.
- Sponsorship — items only: every donation must claim an item at its exact price. Free-amount giving (and phone donations) are blocked — the catalog is the only way in.
The default mode, open, is the classic page where donors choose their own amount and tiers are optional suggestions.
Setting up your items
Items are managed in Design & Media, where the tiers builder becomes the Sponsorship Items manager in sponsorship mode. For each item you set a name, price, image, and — the key field — the quantity:
- 1 — a one-of-a-kind item. It can be claimed exactly once, then locks.
- A number (say, 26) — the item can be claimed that many times, e.g. 26 classroom tables.
- Blank — unlimited; the item never locks.
New items in sponsorship mode default to a single exclusive unit — claim once, then locked.
Note: A campaign is always created in open mode first. Add at least one active item in Design & Media, then switch the donation mode in Settings — the switch is blocked while the catalog is empty, because an items-only page with no items couldn't accept any donations.
What donors see
- Multi-quantity items carry a "N of M sold" pill over a slim progress bar, so buyers see the momentum at a glance. When only a few remain, the badge lights up in your campaign color.
- A fully claimed one-of-a-kind item doesn't say "sold out" like a shop — it reads "Taken", with the sponsor's name, like the dedication it is.
- Donors claiming a multi-quantity item can take more than one unit in a single donation using a quantity picker — each unit counts toward the item's total.
Counting
Progress is counted in units, not donations: one donor taking 5 tables moves the item 5 steps. Deactivating an item later is always allowed — it simply disappears from the catalog; existing claims keep their place.
Availability
Sponsorship mode rides the donation tiers feature, which is part of Pledgix One and above (the Pledgix team can enable it for other campaigns on request). See Creating donation tiers and Limited tiers and inventory for the classic tier features that sponsorship mode builds on.
Tip: Items-only mode is a strong choice for building dedications and auction-style drives — but remember it turns off free-amount giving entirely. If you still want spontaneous gifts, choose items + custom amounts.
