Signing out and how sessions work

How to sign out

  1. Click your account menu — the circle with your initials at the top right.
  2. Select Sign out.

You're returned to the sign-in page immediately. On mobile, Sign out also appears at the bottom of the ☰ menu.

Signing out affects this device only

Signing out ends your session on the device you're using — it does not log you out of Pledgix on your other devices. If you're signed in on your office computer and your phone, signing out on the phone leaves the office session untouched.

If you ever believe someone else has access to your account, reset your password (see Resetting your password). Setting a new password automatically signs out every device and browser where you were signed in — so the old password stops working and any session someone else was holding ends immediately. Sign back in with the new password to continue.

How long do sessions last?

Pledgix keeps you signed in while you work and quietly renews your session in the background — you won't be interrupted mid-task by a short inactivity timer. In practice:

  • Staying active keeps your session alive — each visit quietly renews it.
  • Closing the browser doesn't sign you out; when you return, you land back in your dashboard without re-entering your password.
  • A session that sits completely unused does expire: after about 48 hours of inactivity it can no longer be renewed, and you'll see a Session expired message with a Sign in again button. Signing back in takes you right back to work — nothing is lost.
Tip: On a shared or public computer, always sign out when you finish, and consider using your browser's private/incognito mode so no session is stored at all.

Security behind the scenes

A few protections work automatically:

  • Per-device sessions. Each device holds its own session; one device can't be hijacked through another.
  • Server-checked permissions. Every action you take is verified against your actual role on the server — the interface hides what you can't do, and the server enforces it regardless.
  • Bot protection at sign-in and sign-up (a Cloudflare security check on both forms) and rate limits on sign-in, password reset, and verification requests blunt automated attacks.
  • Optional network restrictions. Organizations can restrict access to approved networks; if your connection isn't approved you'll see an "Access denied from this network location" message at sign-in.

Suspended accounts

If an account is suspended by a platform administrator, signing in redirects back to the sign-in page rather than the dashboard. If you believe your account was suspended in error, contact our team via Help & Support or info@pledgix.com — you don't need dashboard access to reach us.

Quick checklist for shared computers

  1. Finish your work and select Sign out from the account menu.
  2. Confirm you're back on the sign-in page.
  3. Optionally, clear the browser's saved passwords/autofill if you let it remember anything.
