Scheduling campaign events

Events are the building blocks of your campaign plan — the kickoff meeting, the pre-campaign phone-a-thon, the deadline for collecting pledges, the big day itself. This article covers creating and managing events; for the calendar view they live on, see Planning with the campaign calendar. Events are part of the Planning section, included on Pledgix Pro and Political plans (the Pledgix team can enable it for other campaigns on request).
Creating an event
There are two ways to add an event:
- From the calendar — click any day on your campaign calendar to open its day view, then use the Add Event form. The date is already set for you.
- From the Add Campaign Event dialog — create an event from scratch and pick any date.
Either way, you'll fill in the same details:
- Event Title (required) — e.g., "Pre-campaign meeting" or "Team leader briefing."
- Type — categorizes the event: Meeting, Pre-Event, Campaign Day, Deadline, or Other. Each type gets its own badge color on the calendar (meetings in blue, deadlines in red, campaign days in pink, pre-events in purple), so your month reads at a glance.
- Color — choose the event's calendar color: Purple, Pink, Indigo, Violet, or Fuchsia.
- Start Time (required) — the event's date and time. An event needs a start date to appear on the calendar.
- End Time — optional; if you leave it blank, the event is treated as starting and ending at the start time.
- All Day Event — check this for events that span the whole day, like a campaign day or a deadline date. All-day events cover the full day on the calendar automatically.
- Location — a room, an address, or a video-call link.
- Description — any details your team should know.
Click Add Event, and you'll see an "Event added" confirmation. The event appears on the calendar immediately.
Where your events appear
- On the calendar grid — as colored pills on their day. Busy days show the first couple of events with a "+N more" link to expand.
- In the Upcoming Events list — the next few future events, each with its date and a countdown ("in 3 days"), so what's next is always in view beside the calendar.
- In the day view — click a day to see every event with its time, location, and type badge.
Events are internal planning tools — they're visible to the people running your campaign, not on your public campaign page. Deadlines, prep meetings, and internal milestones stay between you and your team.
Changing or removing an event
To remove an event, open its day view and click the delete icon; you'll be asked to confirm before it's gone. If an event's details change — new time, new location — the quickest path is to delete it and add it again with the updated details.
Events don't repeat automatically, so for a weekly check-in, add each occurrence you want on the calendar.
Tip: Use the Deadline type generously. "Pledge cards due," "Matching sponsor confirmed by," "Print materials ordered" — red deadline badges on the calendar keep the whole team honest about what must happen before launch day.
Tip: Give every event a Location, even virtual ones. Pasting the video-call link into the location field means nobody hunts for it at meeting time — and it carries over if you sync to Google Calendar. (See Syncing your campaign to Google Calendar.)
Who can manage events
Creating and deleting events requires campaign editing rights — campaign Managers and Campaign Admins. Captains and team members can't manage the event schedule.
