How much is held in reserve?

Your campaign's reserve is shown right in your portal, and the terms are always communicated to you directly.
Where to see it
- Open your campaign and go to the Payouts & Transactions tab.
- The balance dashboard leads with Available to pay out and a money-flow bar showing Fees, Reserve, Paid out, and Available, with tiles for Net raised, Reserve held, and Still to pay out.
- The Reserve held tile shows the amount currently reserved, with your terms underneath — for example, "10% · released after 90 days."
If your reserve terms are ever set or changed, you also receive an email spelling them out plainly.
How the reserve works
- A percentage of your payable net (commonly 10%) — what's left of your online donations after the processing fees and the Pledgix platform fee on each donation — is held back temporarily. Your terms include a hold window (commonly 90 days), and the team releases reserved funds in line with those terms.
- It's not a fee. Reserved funds remain your money and are disbursed when the team releases them under your reserve terms.
- It exists because donations can be refunded or disputed by cardholders for a while after they're made — the reserve protects your campaign from ending up negative if that happens. This is standard practice across the payments industry.
- Every payout records the reserve held against it, so the math is traceable payout by payout.
Tip: When forecasting cash flow, treat the reserve as delayed income, not a cost — it arrives, just later.
Your exact percentage and hold days are specific to your campaign; if you're unsure what applies, ask the compliance team in the campaign chat (the chat icon in your campaign header). Full background: Why some of your funds may be held.
