How do I pause donations temporarily?
Last updated 1 min read
Pausing donations is done by the Pledgix team on your behalf. Every campaign has an Enable Donations kill-switch, but for safety it lives in the platform-managed section of campaign settings, so you won't see it in your dashboard — a quick support ticket gets it flipped for you.
Steps
- In your dashboard, open the account menu and choose Help & Support.
- Click Create ticket.
- Choose an appropriate category, name the campaign, and ask us to temporarily disable donations — include when (or on what condition) you'd like them switched back on.
- When you're ready to resume, reply on the same ticket or open a new one.
What happens while donations are paused
- The donate button and donation form disappear from your public campaign page.
- All donation pathways are blocked — public checkout, manual entry in the dashboard, and spreadsheet imports are all rejected.
- Your page itself stays visible: the story, totals, teams, and donations feed remain public.
Ending vs pausing
Note that letting your campaign's end date pass does not block donations by itself — an ended page can still accept gifts unless donations are disabled. If you truly need giving stopped, the kill-switch is the way.
Tip: If your goal is to hide the whole page rather than just stop payments, see Can I unpublish my page temporarily? — that's a different lever, also handled with our team.
