How do I change the campaign's main language?
Last updated 1 min read
Your campaign's primary language — the one served at your clean URL, like pledgix.com/your-slug — is a platform-managed setting, so changing it goes through Pledgix support. Adding or editing additional languages, by contrast, is fully self-serve in your story editor.
To change the primary language
- Open Help & Support from your account menu and click Create ticket.
- Name your campaign and the language you want as the new default (English, Hebrew, Russian, Spanish, or French).
- Our team flips the Primary Language setting. After the change, the new default serves at your clean URL, and other languages serve at prefixed URLs like
/he/your-slug.
To add or edit other languages yourself
- Open your campaign's Design & Media hub and go to the Campaign Story tab.
- Use the language tabs and the Add Language panel to create a version of your story in another language.
- Write (or paste) the translated content and save — donors can then switch languages on your public page.
Note: Story translations are a Pledgix One-and-up feature — Pledgix Go campaigns keep a single-language story until they upgrade.
Make sure the new primary language actually has translated content before requesting the switch, so visitors on your main URL don't land on an empty story.
Tip: Your dashboard language and your campaign page language are independent — switching your own dashboard to Hebrew doesn't change what donors see. For the full workflow, see Campaign content in multiple languages and Your page in multiple languages.
