Generating a campaign banner with AI

A striking hero banner is the first thing visitors see on your campaign page. If you don't have a designer on hand, the AI Banner Generator can create one for you: describe the image you have in mind, and it produces a wide-format banner background sized perfectly for your page — then lets you lay your own text on top.

The AI studio is included from Pledgix One and up. On Pledgix Go you'll see it previewed with a one-click upgrade to One (the Pledgix team can also adjust access per campaign).

Where to find it

  1. Open your campaign and go to the Design & Media hub.
  2. Open the Media Assets tab — this is where your banner images live.
  3. Open the AI Banner Generator there.

At the top you'll see your remaining balance, shown as AI Credits Left. Generating a banner uses 1 credit. (See Understanding AI credits.)

Describing your banner

Type a description of the image you want — the scene, the mood, the colors, anything that matters to you. For example: "A warm sunrise over Jerusalem stone buildings, golden light, hopeful and uplifting." You have plenty of room: descriptions can be up to 5,000 characters.

You can also attach an optional style reference — an image whose look you want the AI to echo. A style reference doubles the generation cost to 2 credits, and it stays reusable for 7 days across generations.

You don't need to be a prompt-writing expert. That's what the next step is for.

Enhance your prompt — free

Click Enhance Prompt and the AI rewrites your description into a detailed, professional image prompt — crafted from your idea and your campaign story, with clean space composed for your headline. Enhancing is completely free and doesn't use a credit, so there's no reason to skip it.

The enhanced prompt appears for your review, and you can edit it before generating (up to 1,900 characters). Adjust anything that doesn't feel right — then generate.

If you'd rather go straight from your own words to an image, use Generate Directly instead. For direct generation, keep your description to 2,000 characters or less.

Generating and finishing your banner

Click Generate Banner. Creating the image takes roughly 15–30 seconds — a progress indicator keeps you company while it works.

The AI creates the background; your headline stays sharp, editable text on top. When the background is ready, it opens in the Smart Banner studio, where you add and style your text layers and save. A saved AI banner is a Smart Banner — it stays editable forever, so you can reword the text or regenerate the background later (regenerating costs 1 credit, or 2 if the original used a style reference). Don't leave a fresh draft sitting too long, though — unsaved drafts expire, and you'd need to generate a new background.

Not in love with the result? Generate again with a tweaked description. Each new generation uses a credit, so you can compare versions and save only the best one.

If something goes wrong

  • Generation fails — your credit is refunded automatically. You'll see a note confirming the refund; simply try again.
  • Safety notice — if your description can't be processed, you'll see: "The request violates safety guidelines. Please try a different description." Reword your request and try again; no credit is charged for blocked requests.
Tip: Mention your campaign's color palette in the description ("deep navy and warm gold tones") so the banner harmonizes with the accent colors you've chosen elsewhere in the Design & Media hub.
Tip: Banners work best when they leave visual breathing room — describe a scene with an open sky, soft background, or gentle gradient rather than a busy collage, so your text stays readable on top of it.

Good to know

  • The AI Banner Generator is currently available in English.
  • Generated banners are yours to use — they're stored with your campaign like any uploaded image.
  • You can mix AI banners with your own uploaded photos in the same gallery — and even convert an uploaded image into an editable Smart Banner with Make it smart.
