Campaign statuses and lifecycle

Every campaign moves through a lifecycle — from setup, to launch, to its final day. Pledgix tracks this on two levels: the badges you see in your portal and the phase your public page displays to visitors.

The badges on your campaign tiles

On the My Campaigns page, each campaign tile shows a timeline badge reflecting where the campaign sits on its live window right now:

  • Live Now — the campaign is between its start and end dates (or set to be always live) and is accepting donations.
  • Early Giving — the campaign is in a pre-campaign giving window before the official start.
  • Starts today / Starts tomorrow / Starts in X days / Starts [date] — the campaign is scheduled and counting down to launch.
  • Ended [date] — the campaign's end date has passed.
  • Paused / Canceled / Draft — states set manually rather than by the timeline.

You can filter your campaign list by All Campaigns, Open, Ended, and Canceled.

What visitors see: the public page phases

Your public campaign page automatically shows one of five states:

  • Coming Soon — a teaser page before your timeline begins. You can customize the message, and if team signup is enabled, visitors can already register as teams.
  • Launching Soon — a live countdown timer to your launch moment.
  • Live Now — the full campaign page, open for donations.
  • Campaign Extended — the official end date passed, but you've enabled an extension window for late giving.
  • Campaign Ended — the campaign has concluded. Late donations are still welcomed on the page.

Controlling your timeline

In Campaign Settings → Timeline, the Lifecycle & timing section offers three modes:

  1. Coming Soon — your page shows a "Coming Soon" message indefinitely until you switch modes. Great while you finish preparing.
  2. Phased Timeline — the page transitions automatically based on dates you set:
  • Countdown Start — a countdown timer appears on the public page.
  • Campaign Live — donations open and the countdown disappears.
  • Campaign End — the campaign is marked as ended.
  • Enable Campaign Extension (optional) — allow late donations after the official end date. The system suggests a 7-day extension, and you can choose whether to show a ticking countdown timer during the extension.
  1. Live Immediately — your campaign skips all countdowns and phases. It is fully active and open for donations right now.

All times are entered in your campaign's timezone, and a live preview banner shows exactly what phase your page resolves to with the current settings.

Note: On Pledgix Go campaigns, the Coming Soon mode isn't included — Go campaigns choose between Phased Timeline and Live Immediately.
Tip: A campaign you create yourself through the wizard launches in "live immediately" mode — it's open for donations from the moment you finish. Add a phased timeline afterward if you want a scheduled arc with a countdown and end date.

Evergreen pages that never end

Some pages — typically organization and foundation pages — are configured as evergreen. An evergreen page is always Live: it has no end date, no countdown, and never expires. Evergreen status is configured by the Pledgix team; if your page should be always-on, contact support.

Who can change what

  • Timeline and scheduling (launch dates, end dates, extensions) can be changed by the campaign's Campaign Admins and Managers alike.
  • The internal status and page visibility controls (for example, pausing or canceling a campaign) are managed at the platform level. If you need a campaign paused, unpublished, or reactivated, contact Pledgix support.
